Introduction to Painting Art Appreciation Lecture
Speaker: Dr. Endou Li
Date & time: April 19, 2024 19:05-19:50

Lecture Language: Chinese with English script
Theme: Titian and the Art of the Venetian School of Painting
Introduction: This art appreciation lecture focuses on Italian Venetian art in art history. Titian, Veronese, and Tintoretto were the three great figures of the Venetian School of Painting during the Renaissance. Titian's "Flora", Veronese's "Banquet of the Levi Family", and Tintoretto's "Rita and the Swan" all reflect the astonishing color techniques and coordinated composition of the Venetian School of Painting, presenting a dazzling and joyful scene, which is a tribute to the love of life in the world by Venetians in the 16th century. This lecture, in conjunction with the collection of Uffizi Galleries currently on display at Shanghai Bund One Art Museum, delves into the development and changes of Italian painting styles during the Renaissance period, and catches a glimpse of the brilliant chapter of European painting art.
