Live Nation is thrilled to announce that SEKAI NO OWARI, one of Japan’s most popular and creative music groups, is set to bring their “The Colors” Tour 2019 to Shanghai with their upbeat indie-rock fantasy on Nov 16th at Mercedes-Benz Arena.

 

SEKAI NO OWARI is currently one of Japan’s most popular and skilled creative groups. The group is comprised of four distinctly talented members: Nakajin (lead guitar, sound production); Fukase (lead vocals, group conceptualist); Saori (stage production, piano); and the masked clown DJ LOVE (sonic palette, comedic stage banter).

 

These four childhood friends grew closer while collectively managing the live music venue clubEARTH, which they built from the ground up. The members were living on the premises as they developed the concept and direction of what would eventually become SEKAI NO OWARI. Purely fueled by their love for music, the quartet started playing even if those early gigs were to about 30 people.

 

 

Their combined passion and deep personal connections have led to unprecedented success as one of Japan’s premier music acts. They've scored countless hits (nine top 10s on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, four of them number ones) and performed a handful of eye-popping concert tours around Japan, including two sell-out shows at the country's largest venue, Nissan Stadium (140,000!).

 

With Japan well and truly conquered, they're turning their attention to the rest of the world. Over the last year, the band has been working on collaborative projects with UK-based electronic act Clean Bandit after touring with them in the US and remixing their hit tune “Rockabye”, as well as the Joe Jonas-fronted gonzo-pop funsters, DNCE.

Despite their own legacy, the band are passionate about learning and trying new things. “We've been working on loads of tracks but we don't want to just be one hit wonders,” Band states. “It's more about making sure we make what only we can make. That's always been the ultimate goal for us.”

 

On February 27, 2019, four years after the release of their last album "Tree", SEKAI NO OWARI finally returned with two new albums "Eye" and "Lip". They tried to divide their "dark side" and "pop side" into these two albums. "Eye" presents their consistent rebellious rock spirit, to reveal their “dark” ideas through a more serious arrangement, thus arousing people's subconscious happiness; and "Lip" shows their exquisite skills, where we can clearly hear the pain through the vivid and soft soundscape. Through these two albums, they continue delivering their music to a wide generation and convey the power of music to people of all ages.

Their mainland debut show in Shanghai in 2016 was a resounding success, tickets were sold out within few days. Not only did Shanghai witness the fans’ overwhelming demand, but also they’ve been selling out shows since they kicked off “The Colors” Tour 2019 this year. “The Colors” Tour 2019 will include dates in Taipei, Seoul, Hong Kong and Shanghai etc. Don’t miss the excitement!
