Room 303: a monthly hosted by MIIIA dedicated to outer space tripping, acid bassline illusions, losing control and the techno that takes us there. It will showcase artists - internationally, Asia-based, and local - creating new pathways and pushing the boundaries of sound while keeping tight grooves intact. Past guests include Bambounou, Traumer, Rebekah, Etapp Kyle and Par Grindvik. Her guest in February is French-born, Berlin-based acid queen Bloody Mary.

 

 

For Mary, it all started when a love of new wave led to her first rave as a teenager, opening up her ears and heart to electronic music - collecting vinyl and mixing was the logical next step. She quickly rose the ranks in the techno scene in the South of France and landed her first residency at Studio 88.

 

Relocating to Berlin began the next chapter. In 2010, Mary started her own imprint, Dame-Music. The label's identity springs from a love for raw and analogue house and techno sounds, and from collaborating closely with artist friends who share the same state of mind: Boo Williams, Anaxander, Innerspace Halflife, Axel Boman, The Analogue Cops are just a few of the artist's who've found a home on Dame.

 

 

After an acclaimed live album and world tour as "The Jaydes", Mary has recently focused on solo productions and her deep love for the acid sound. Tracks come from extended studio jams, and she brings this energy to the dancefloor through her releases and performances. She's been remixed by Marcel Fengler, collaborated with Milton Bradley, and besides Dame-Musik also released on Josh Wink's Ovum label.

 

Bloody Mary continues to travel the world, rocking festivals and clubs as both a vinyl DJ and hardware-based live act, featuring at festivals such as WMC Miami, Movement Detroit, Piknic Electronik Australia and Barcelona, ADE and Off Sonar. She has also graced the decks of world-renowned clubs like Fabric London, Tresor and Panorama Bar Berlin, Smart Bar Chicago and more.

 

MIIIA supports. The Chinese-Canadian producer has released on ECI Korea, Berlin's Be Sure and Co:Motion, the Shanghai label/collective she's co-founded. Expect a strange, groove-heavy, futuristic and textured techno journey.
