Peyman Yazdanian was born in 1969 in Tehran. He started learning the piano at the age of 6 and continued with his Master Farman Behbud up to the advanced level. At the age of 12, he started taking harmony and composition lessons from Plus Khofri.

 

He has taken part in a few master classes of Austrian professor Gerhard Gretchleger from the conservatory of Vienna and Professor Ernest Hozel from the conservatory of Graz and he has also taken an advanced stage course in Marseille with Professor Ginette Gaubert. He has taken a few Conducting lessons with Iradj Sahbai (The conductor of Strazburg-Shiltigheim Orchstra). He has had many concerts both as a soloist and an accompanist.

 

 

He has written several pieces for piano solo and few chamber music including duo pieces for piano and cello, piano and violin, a trio for piano, flute and cello, a quartet for 4 flutes, a quartet for woodwinds, numbers of pieces for strings ensembles, few short pieces for symphonic orchestra and several strings quartets. Many of them have been performed in Iran, France, Germany, Scotland, Italy, Cyprus and China.

 

 

As a film composer, he has collaborated in numbers of Iranian featured films with internationally well-known masters like Abbas Kiarostami, Jafar Panahi, Kamal Tabrizi, Khosro Masumi, Masood Kimiai, Asghar Farhadi and etc.

 

As he works with foreign film companies and filmmakers, he has numbers of foreign feature films in his work list like “Mystery”(2012-France, China) by Lou Ye (won the 49th Golden Horse in Taiwan for the best film music), “Spring Fever” (2009-China, France) by Lou Ye (won the first prize for the best screenplay in Official selection in Cannes film festival 2009 and the 47th Golden Horse in Taiwan first prize for the best original music).
