Born in Jiangsu in 1979, Zhang Liang began to study orchestra conducting with Professor Zhang Mei at the Shanghai Music Conservatory in 1996. He is noted for his dazzling technique and idiomatic interpretation, well recognized for his penetrating reading of Mahler and Richard Strauss.
Hailed as a "consummate master of the bow" by The Strad magazine, Chinese-Australian cellist Yelian He has performed in almost all of UK and Australia's well-known venues. He has most recently appeared in concert at venues and festivals such as Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Bridgewater Concert Hall, City Recital Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre, Hamer Hall, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Brighton Festival, Deal Festival, Adelaide International Cello Festival and Woodend Winter Arts Festival.
