Liszt's works are known for their superb virtuosity and excellent dazzle, as well as for their national and lyrical romanticism in their melodies. This year coincides with the 210th anniversary of Liszt's birth, young pianist Xu Qianyi will present a special Liszt solo piano concert, bringing the audience closer to the legendary "King of Piano".

In this concert, you can hear Liszt's early works "Erlkönig" and "Auf Dem Wasser Zu Singen", which are adapted from Schubert's art songs, as well as the composer's "Après une lecture du Dante" and "Hungarian Rhapsodies, S.244 - No.2", which are very fantastical during his harvest period, and "Nuags gris", which is a new technique exploration in his later years, and "Piano Sonata in B minor", which is a masterpiece for the ages.


Pianist: Xu Qianyi

Xu Qianyi is a Chinese pianist, a teacher of piano in the School of Education of the China Conservatory of Music, a Changjiang Piano Artist, and a former student of the Central Conservatory of Music Affiliated High School and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

Xu Qianyi has won many prizes in important piano competitions at home and abroad. In 2019, he won gold and silver in international competitions four times: he won three consecutive championships in the 3rd Viseu International Piano Competition, the 2019 Stradella International Music Competition in Italy, the 20th Maria Giubilei International Piano Competition in Italy, and was awarded the second place in the 4th Coimbra-Figuera da Foz International Piano Competition in Portugal. Among them, he also won the Best Audience Award at the 3rd Viseu International Piano Competition, being the only pianist to receive a double award in that competition.
