Learning calligraphy, one of China's most famous cultural treasures, takes time and patience, but the rewards are many. Not only does it teach culture, patience and control, but the focus required means it's also a kind of meditation.
Try it for yourself at one of our monthly calligraphy workshops!
These monthly workshops include a 2-hour calligraphy class, guided by an experienced calligrapher. You'll practice your design first before choosing a character or phrase to write on to decorative paper that you can then take home and frame!
Included in the price is a presentation (in English) on the language and history of Chinese calligraphy, a dumpling lunch, transportation to our centre from Tuanjiehu subway station (line 10), all materials, snacks and tea while you paint, as well as free time to explore Xiaopu Artists Village located within the Songzhuang Art District!
