How many times a day does your child ask ‘why?’ or ‘how?’ Do they dream of going out on an adventure all of their own? Maybe they (and you!) are just a bit sick and tired of being cooped up for so long because of COVID-19.
This summer, enroll your student in a program designed to get them out into the mountains, questioning nature, and learning essential life skills. They’ll come back more confident, and perhaps a bit more questioning, but with a new set of skills that will see them look at life differently.
What they’ll do:
· Learn how to find and make water safe for drinking in the wild
· Learn how to create a shelter for survival outdoors
· Learn to identify different plants and insects
· Learn how to build a fire and cook a meal outdoors
· Learn first aid and rescue skills.
Sessions will be facilitated by Simon Drayton, a wilderness survival expert and former British Maritime & Coastguard Manager and International Rescue Corps member.
WILDCHINA
What we're all about
Here at WildChina, we specialize in creating life-changing experiences. When it comes to our educational programs, this normally means working directly with schools and organizations to curate experiences that challenge students and help them to think from new perspectives.
We love our job because we know that it is these out-of-the-classroom experiences – the challenges overcome and the lessons learned - that are truly life-changing. It’s also what elevates college applications beyond just being able to state that a student was top of the class.
The world’s a very different place this year but, as educators ourselves, our dedication to your student’s learning and personal growth hasn’t changed. With our series of summer programs, we want to help make sure your student doesn’t miss out on the opportunities they deserve.
For Gen Z, a generation that is often glued to technology, our programs are designed to get students outside, stimulate discussions, and help participants to build important life skills such as independence and resourcefulness.

Wilderness Survival with WildChina
This summer program is an action-packed 5-day affair that will use the theme of wilderness survival to help children develop important social, emotional, and cognitive skills that will last a lifetime.
Our wilderness survival program has a scientific focus that makes it perfect for students who always ask ‘why?’ and ‘how?’ things work. Why does a fire burn and how do you know when water is safe to drink? Away from their computers and video games, participants will learn how to work as a team to make decisions and ‘survive’ in the wilderness.
Students will learn planning and problem-solving skills as they work together to design and build rafts and shelters, and they’ll learn to respect and understand the nature around them.
With our nature instructor, students will learn the basics of plant taxonomy, collect fallen flowers and leaves to use in their projects, and even practice using microscopes to fully appreciate the delicate nature of the environment.
Paeonia obovata
Begonia grandis subsp. sinensis
On this program, students will also be expected to manage their time, cook for their team, and keep their belongings neat and clean. They'll develop independence and resourcefulness through fun challenges and will definitely head home with a greater appreciation for the things they normally take for granted.

Why choose this program?
After months at home and inside, we understand the importance of your student getting out of the city and achieving the personal growth they deserve. While our students spend the majority of their time mastering the academic world, their ability to navigate the natural world can stagnate. Being immersed in the natural world has been proven countless times to relieve stress, improve concentration, and heighten creativity.
We also understand that this summer will be like no other. Our dedicated health and safety team will be working with our academic team every step of the way to ensure that students not only learn and have fun but stay safe & healthy throughout the trip. Our program leaders& staff not only have up to date first aid training but have COVID-19training as well.
