On January 31, 2026, OUTPUT will launch the globally acclaimed immersive fashion exhibition "VOGUE: Inventing the Runway" (Chinese Title: 《VOGUE:秀场风云》) at the
West Bund Museum in Shanghai. This marks another strategic move by OUTPUT in introducing and distributing world-class cultural IPs to China, following its successful debut of the David Hockney immersive art exhibition. It promises to deliver a groundbreaking digital feast on fashion history for domestic audiences.

Produced by London's Lightroom and presented by OUTPUT, this exhibition makes its Asian debut after achieving tremendous success at its global premiere in London. "VOGUE:
Inventing the Runway" is a new immersive exhibition that traces the evolution of the fashion runway show from the intimate couture salons of the early 20th century to the spectacular global events of today. Leveraging Vogue's remarkable archive and extensive industry network, the exhibition weaves a compelling fashion narrative connecting the past, present, and future. Developed with the deep involvement of Anna Wintour, Chief Content Officer of Condé Nast and Global Editorial Director of VOGUE, and her team, it exclusively features VOGUE's peerless coverage and extensive archive dating back to its first publication in 1892, as well as rare materials from noted fashion houses and contributors. Audiences will hear firsthand accounts from industry legends: the editors who witnessed landmark shows, the models who walked them, and the designers who created them. The English voiceover for the exhibition was provided by Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett, while the Chinese dubbing was specially performed by actress Zhu Zhu.

"At Vogue we've been lucky enough over the decades to see many incredible runway shows, which have often told the story of fashion as much as the clothes themselves,” said
Anna Wintour, Chief Content Officer, Condé Nast, and Global Editorial Director, Vogue. “This Lightroom experience is a wonderful opportunity for a lot more people to experience
first-hand the thrill of watching the history of fashion unfold right in front of them."

"VOGUE: Inventing the Runway" unfolds through innovative thematic chapters such as "Behind Closed Doors", "Story and Spectacle", "Disruptors", "On Location" and "The
Audience," transporting audiences from the private salons of early 20th-century Paris to the contemporary global spectacles where art and technology converge. Through firsthand testimony and a rich mixture of media, the exhibition reveals how fashion shows became the ultimate statement of a designer’s vision – at times, a walking expression of their identity –reimagined season after season and year after year. It is a celebration of the imagination, discipline, and passion that has revolutionized how we experience fashion. Using the immersive space's surrounding walls as a 360-degree canvas, visitors will experience and interact with designers' visions up close, in new ways and at an unprecedented scale. Iconic runway moments from top houses like Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Dior, and Louis Vuitton will be vividly brought to life.

This fashion journey begins with the origins of the modern fashion show in Charles Frederick Worth's salon, witnesses the distinct presentation styles of Gabrielle Chanel and Cristóbal Balenciaga, travels through Vivienne Westwood's punk streets, Martin Margiela's abandoned playgrounds, and Alexander McQueen's world-shaking runways. The exhibition also panoramically recreates era-defining shows, including the spectacle Karl Lagerfeld created for Fendi atop the Great Wall of China, and Pharrell Williams' sunset spectacle for Louis Vuitton on the Seine River, which garnered billions of views. Audiences will fully "experience" an aesthetic and media revolution spanning a century.
