The Palace of Versailles in France embarks on a journey to the East, creating a new dimension of culture with digital technology.
February 26, 2021, “Bright · Virtually Versailles: China Tour Exhibition” will be launched in Shanghai's popular landmark, Xintiandi.
The Palace has been able to count once again on the support of the Michelin Corporate Foundation and more than 600 creative workers from seven countries to create the design of the exhibition. Laid out over 2,500 m2, the tour offers an immersion into the world of the Palace and its Estate. It guides visitors through the emblematic rooms, collections, and critical moments of history that have made it famous worldwide. This sensory and interactive journey honours the Estate's splendour and scale with the use of the latest innovative and creative immersive technologies, thereby breaking the walls of space and time and geographical and cultural barriers.
To highlight this multi-sensory journey, Master Perfumer Francis Kurkdjian has created "Royal Pleasure" (le plaisir Royal) exclusively for the Palace of Versailles. Based on King Louis XIV's favourite flowers, this unique fragrance comes from the garden plants of the Palace of Versailles. Using connected bikes, visitors can also explore the iconic sites of the Gardens and the Park of Versailles, from the Grande Perspective to the Queen's Hamlet and through the French gardens of the Grand Trianon.
