Renaud Capuçon
French violinist Renaud Capuçon is already internationally renowned as a soloist, concert artist and chamber musician, known for his calm, deep tone and virtuosity, and has performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, artists, venues and festivals.
Born in 1976 in Chambéry (France), Capuçon began his studies at the age of 14 at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, France, where he won numerous awards over a period of five years. In 1997 he was invited by Claudio Abbado to be the resident principal of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra for three summer seasons, working with a number of conductors including Boulez, Seiji Ozawa, Wilser Moster and Claudio Abbado. Since then, Renaud Capuçon has established himself as a soloist worldwide. He has performed with several prestigious orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (VPO), the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO), the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the La Scala Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. Capuçon also invested very much in chamber music, working with Aggrech, Barenboim, Bashmet, Bronfman, Bunyadishvili, Grimaud, Hagen, Yo-Yo Ma, Pires, Trifnov and Yuja Wang, as well as his brother cellist Gauthier Capuçon. He has also participated in the Berlin, Lucerne, Verbier, Aix-en-Provence, Antillon, Saint-Sebastien, Stresa, Salzburg, Edinburgh International Festivals and the Tanglewood Music Festival. Capuçon has also represented France at some of the world's most prestigious international events: he has performed with Yo-Yo Ma under the Arc de Triomphe, participated in the official commemoration of Armistice Day in the presence of more than 80 heads of state, and played for world leaders at the G7 summit in Biarritz.
Capuçon serves as the artistic director of both festivals. Since 2016 he has been the director of the Gstaad Festival, and in 2013 he founded the Easter Festival in Aix-en-Provence, where he is also the musical director. Guillaume Bellom
Guillaume Bellom has followed a unique path to success compared to his peers. From the Conservatoire de Besançon in his hometown all the way to the Paris Conservatoire, he studied not only the piano but also the violin. It was at the Paris Conservatoire, under the influence of Nicolas Angelich and Hortense Cartier-Bresson, among others, that he decided to become a pianist.
In 2015 Guillaume was a finalist in the highly acclaimed Clara Haskell Piano Competition, named after the great Romanian pianist who was herself known for her violin playing. Guillaume Bellom's performance won the "Modern Times" award for the best interpretation of a work by Thomas Adès. In the same year, he won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Epinale and was a recipient of the Gold Foundation of the Rhine, and the following year he received the Thierry Schötz Prize at the Gstaad Summer Music Festival, and in 2017 he was nominated for the Victory Music Prize in the category "Solo Musician of the Apocalypse". Since 2018, he has also been a collaborating artist of the Fondation Polignac in Paris.
Guillaume performs as a soloist with the Orchestre National de France, Orchestre National de l'Ile-de-France, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre National de Montpellier and Orchestre National de Lorraine, conducted by Jacques Messier, Christian Zacharias, Pierre Dumouzeau and Marzena Diakun. He has a keen interest in chamber music and is well versed in a large repertoire, which has made him a very popular musical partner with Renaud Capuçon, Paul Meyer, Jan Levinova, Victor Julien Laferrière, Ismael Margann, Anne Gokel, Adrien Bellon, as well as with the Hermas, Girard and Hanson Quartets.
