U137
Oscar Gullbrandsen, aka U137, is a filmic post-rock composer from Sweden. U137 was formed in 2013 as a duo consisting of musician Adam Törnblad (who sadly died after the release of their debut album). Both artists were members of Moonlit Sailor, another post-rock band. U137 had a more cinematic sound, carrying on from their earlier work influenced by traditional rock. After Adams' death, Oscar continued to write songs under the U137 moniker, releasing two full albums; CHAPTER TWO (2019) and IMAGINATION (2022).
U137's music has been played over 200 million times to date on various platforms, and his music has been featured in films and TV series such as Netflix's Lucifer and Scense 8. In 2021, U137 was a special guest on Post-Rock band This Will Destroy You in Stockholm, a show that was not only a tribute to Adam, but also a major milestone in Oscar's solo music career. After the show, Oscar had the desire to bring U137's music to a wider stage, and in 2024, U137 contributed to OFFSIDE FESTIVAL Post-Rock Festival 2.0 in Xiangshan, Ningbo, bringing an unprecedented musical experience to audiences around the world with its unique emotional depth and cinematic feel. We sincerely invite every listener to come to this special show to personally feel the emotions that ferment with the music and experience the stories that flow in the notes.
An Corporation
Shanghai-based instrumental rockers An Corporation, known for their grandiose, exploratory, even apocalyptic sound, rocked listeners with their self-titled debut album.
The band's music is heavy and powerful, with atmospheric acoustics. The band features drummers and guitarists, which are common in rock music, as well as bassists and violinists, which are less common. They specialise in grandiose and innovative post-rock music in the vein of Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Russian Circles, and their compositions are full of grandiose passages, tense musicianship, and provocative endings, traits often found in metal bands. They are happy to go against the grain, such as the frenetic anarchic atmosphere of ‘White Dragon Horse’ or the haunting buzzing effects of the long ambient piece ‘Dial’ ...... An Corporation avoids the sentimental overtones that are so common to post-rock music, and instead hits the listener strongly with their creativity and texture. For listeners who prefer instrumental rock with a more gritty feel and ruthlessness, An Corporation is undoubtedly the best choice.
