The flute is like the wind—lucid, fluid, capable of tracing lines in the air that seem to bear no weight at all. The guitar, by contrast, is like the earth; its chords unfold layer upon layer, like winding rivers and rich textures, warm and full of breath.
When these two instruments meet, music becomes an interweaving of two senses of time: one flowing, one settling; one skimming past with lightness, the other echoing back with a slow, lingering resonance.
On August 23rd, the One Person's Classicalseries will present "Trails in Time." This flute and guitar duo concert features Yu Yuan, Principal Flutist of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, and Kuang Junhong, guitarist and First Prize winner of the Munich ARD International Music Competition.
