Tobi Adeyemi (born November 3, 1988), better known by his stage name Tobi Lou is a Nigeria born, Chicago Illinois raised rapper, singer, and record producer. Lou is signed with the label ARTCLUB lNTL. Lou's discography includes three 2018 EP's and his 2019 mixtape Live on Ice, as well as many other singles released as early as 2016.

 

 

Tobi Lou was born in Nigeria before soon moving with his family to Chicago Illinois at the age of two. There he attended Homewood Flossmoor Highschool where he was a baseball star and first began to record music. After high school he continued his education at SUNY Albany in New York while he continued to pursue a career in baseball. He then transferred to FAMU where he put up impressive batting numbers. Despite going undrafted in the 2011 MLB Draft, Lou was able to land a spot as an outfielder on the Joliet Slammers, a semi-pro team, for the 2011 season. His career ended in 2012 when a series of hamstring injuries forced him to retire. Throughout his baseball career he continued to record music and try to lift his musical career off the ground. When his parents kicked him out of the house he moved to L.A. to pursue a career in music.

 

After moving to Los Angeles, released a number of popular singles. He first began to gain a following after dropping his hit single Game Ova, which was released online in 2015. After releasing his next hit 2015 single Troop, which featured popular recording artist Smino, his music was introduced to a much larger audience. Between 2015 and 2018 Lou continued to expand his audience after dropping other popular songs such as Txt Me, New Bish, and Your Kinda Love.

After gaining some following, Tobi Lou's career really began to take off in 2018 with the release of three new EPs. In 2019, he released his debut album, Live on Ice. Following his stream of success, Tobi Lou sold out a nationwide tour, and has played notable music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Governors Ball, and various other festivals around the United States.

 

In 2020, Tobi Lou continued to drop singles such as Endorphins, Pretty Much, Skin Care Tutorial 2020, Hot Tub Time Machine, Hot Tub DREAM Machine, Neither Here Nor There, and was featured alongside Chance The Rapper on Peter CottonTale’s Pray For Real. His 3-song EP compilation, Lingo Starr consists of 3 tracks, Return of the Dragon, Strikes Back, and Drunken Master. Tobi Lou is scheduled to release his second album, Parrish Blue in October 2020.
