Founded in May 2014, the Maple Choir is a CEIBS alumni organization and a member of the CHORUS CHINA. The Choir is a non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by CEIBS alumni, students, faculty, staff and their families who love music and singing. Baritone Wu Chunkan (06EMBA) is the founder and artistic director of the Choir.
Since its inception, the Maple Choir has given ten concerts at prestigious venues such as the CEIBS Conference Center, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, He Luting Concert Hall, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, and Taipei Zhongshan Hall. In addition, the Maple Choir has been invited to perform at major events such as the CEIBS 15th and 20th Anniversary Celebrations, the EFMD Conference for Deans & Directors General, and the MBA Graduation Ceremony.
With its exceptional performances, the Maple Choir has attracted considerable attention from music lovers and the general public. In 2017, it won the silver prize in the B1 category at the Vietnam International Choir Competition in Hoi An.
In May 2021, it was honored as a five-star team at the Choir Competition during the 2021 Shanghai Resident's Cultural Festival. The Maple Choir has become an iconic symbol of CEIBS.
