Event details

Experience classic films with live orchestral accompaniment in the spectacular surroundings of the Shanghai Oriental Art Center. A score played live by a full orchestra is probably the closest you will ever get to feeling like part of the film.

Titanic is a 1997 American epic romance-disaster film directed, written, co-produced and co-edited by James Cameron. A fictionalized account of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage.

Upon its release on December 19, 1997, Titanic achieved critical and commercial success. Nominated for 14 Academy Awards, it tied All About Eve (1950) for the most Oscar nominations, and won 11, including the awards for Best Picture and Best Director, tying Ben-Hur (1959) for the most Oscars won by a single film.

Ernst Van Tiel
During and immediately after his time as a student at the Conservatory of Utrecht studying percussion and piano, Ernst van Tiel conducted various Dutch broadcasting orchestras, including the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Metropole Orchestra. Building up a firm musical partnership with these orchestras he subsequently conducted on many of their classical and jazz music recordings.

Clara Sanabras
Sioux and Gypsy blood run through Clara’s veins. An exceptionally versatile musician, captivating performer and one of the most original singer-songwriters to emerge from the East London scene, Clara brings a refreshing twist to the folk tradition creating an unmistakable bluesy sound with a continental twist. In an impressive back catalog of recordings, theatre and screen credits, Clara features in many movie soundtracks including “The Hobbit”, “Snow White and the Huntsman”, “The Hunger Games” and has appeared at many international festivals, including Glastonbury.

Eric Rigler
Eric Rigler is an American player of the Uilleann pipes, Great Highland Bagpipes, and tin whistle. He performs as a solo artist and with the band Bad Haggis, and has been featured on a number of movie soundtracks.[1] He has been described as "the most recorded bagpiper of all time".[2] He has been playing all forms of bagpipes and tin whistles since he was a child, performing solo, with bagpipe bands and other musical groups.
