The dance drama Thousand-Hand Guanyin was created by renowned director Zhang Jigang over a period of seven years. Based on the widely known Chinese legend of Thousand-Hand Guanyin, the drama reimagines the story with a strong allegorical tone, deeply conveying the theme of truth, goodness, and beauty.

The entire play depicts the legendary journey of the Third Princess as she pleads for her father's life and seeks the lotus flower, showcasing the kindness and compassion inherent in human nature. It conveys the universal message of love: ‘The Thousand-Armed Guanyin is extraordinary—not you, not me, not him. The Thousand-Armed Guanyin is ordinary—it is you, it is me, it is him. As long as there is light in your heart, as long as there is love in your heart, you must reach out your hands and spread warmth!’
