In The Sheep Song, FC Bergman tells about a being that is no longer satisfied with itself. It feels that it has more within it and that it is destined to lead a more glorious life than that of its fellows. Ovis Orientalis Avis prepares to undergo the ultimate transformation, determined to defy fate, the laws of physics and good taste.

The Sheep Song has no dialogue. Rather, it is a visual story without words, an epic solely for the eye. A fantanstical world is staged through exquisite physical movements and beautiful poetic imagery. Leaving behind language, the desire of this sheep points toward humanity's destiny.

FC BERGMAN
Four artists make up the FC Bergman theatre collective: Stef Aerts, Joé Agemans, Thomas Verstraeten and Marie Vinck. The company was founded back in 2008, with their sensational site-specific productions, they made a splash the moment in Europe. In 2013 FC Bergman came under the wing of Toneelhuis.

FC Bergman is renowned for its unique, visually striking, and poetic style. Since its inception, they have developed a theatrical language that blends the bizarre and chaotic with strong visual impact. Their performances incorporate elements from literature, art history, and mythology, depicting the struggles of ordinary people striving to surpass themselves. Its producitons have been invited to many pretigious festivals, such as Festival d’Avignon, Adelaide Festival, Edinburgh International Festivial, Ruhrtriennale, etc. In 2023, FC Bergman was awarded the prestigious Silver Lion for Theatre at the Venice Biennale.
