Exhibition 1: Huang Yulong: The Missing Face

Disappearing faces, carnival deconstruction and lightweight civilization

Hip-hop originated from the changes in the power structure of urban spaces. Minorities defined cultural areas through music parties and graffiti. Later hip-hop evolved into trend culture, which continued in richer forms such as hip-hop, skateboarding, rap, and graffiti. The expansion of urban space resources and cultural discourse rights by different groups and classes.

Disappearing faces, retiring identities, carnivalization, gamification, and other unique visual symbols and cultural elements of Weiyi people all belong to a kind of "light civilization". In light civilization, the heaviness and rigidity represented by "heavy" becomes the object of deconstruction, and "light" forms a symbolic and cultural revolution. With their rhythmic bodies, ethereal faces, and flowing lines, the men in sweaters show a kind of lightness, which is the lightness of matter and the lightness of spirit. Dispelling the stiffness and weight, this is the release of the disciplined body, the abandonment of the stereotyped mask, showing the ambiguous, vague, and open light aesthetics.

Exhibition 2: Kang Shixin: Irdescent Adult

Artist Kang Shixin has established his own painting language with non-narrative and undefined images. Brilliant colors, gravity-free floating space with binary structure, and multi-dimensional narrative language combining images and words, what he paints is the original ecology of the aesthetics of metaverse that travels through time and space without age.

Kang Shixin grew up on the island, and often had the opportunity to go to the seaside, snorkel in the sea to experience the loneliness surrounded by seawater, and defy gravity to float on the sea. The momentary tranquility of looking up at the blue sky on the sea, and being able to fall away from the mundane world and fall into the universe of his romantic imagination, these are the reasons why Kang Shixin's paintings are always childlike and innocent. As a graduate of the oil painting department, he insisted on finding the floating space without perspective concept constructed by unique Chinese schema and brushwork from the sheet music of the most basic textbook of Chinese painting "Mustard Seed Garden", which is similar to Takashi Murakami's "Super Flat" The concepts are quite different. Kang Shixin uses fragmented creation methods to make his works stand alone like traditional comic strips.

This exhibition "Kang Shixin, Ah!" will exhibit the latest series of works of Kang Shixin. Sweet colors and graphics are used to beautify the world view of adults and bring adult life back to childish childhood. Just like the Skittles that children like, the sweet flavors correspond to various colors, so that everyone can find the flavor he likes. Taste the satisfaction of simplicity, without the need for lengthy esoteric theories and concepts. A can of Skittles is a collection of decentralized fragments; each candy is a fragment of experience. The fragments received by each person come from their respective present moments of existence. There is no past or future, but every moment that is constantly changing. This exhibition "Kang Shixin, Ah!" will exhibit the latest series of works of Kang Shixin.
