The Peninsula Shanghai announces the official programme of the inaugural Grande Affaire de Champagne.
With an innovatively curated agenda spanning three days, the hotel will host a full schedule of luxurious events to celebrate the finest Champagnes the French appellation has to offer. Focused on exceptional Champagnes, unique gastronomic experiences and partnerships with influential industry figures, The Peninsula Shanghai will seek to immerse patrons in the distinctive joie de vivre lifestyle of the Champagne region and vintage French culture.
Garden Party
Held in the grounds of No.1 Waitanyuan – the latest addition to The Peninsula’s growing portfolio of evocative edifices —— on the 3rd and 4th June from 11am to 6pm. The party will feature an extensive range of special sponsors exhibiting premium bottles, offering attendees tastings and opportunities to purchase exquisite Champagnes. Automobile enthusiasts will be enthralled by an exhibition of glamorous vintage vehicles in collaboration with Shanghai Auto Museum while live entertainment will offer a festive atmosphere to enjoy a glass of champagne among the stunning grounds of the Former British Consulate building.
Gala Dinner
Celebrated French chef Philippe Mille will work in collaboration with Han Zahner, Chef de Cuisine of Sir Elly’s Restaurant, to craft a sumptuous 6-course Gala Dinner with 6 premium Champagne pairings at 6.30pm on the third of June. Mille is the highly esteemed head chef of Domaine Les Crayères, a two Michelin-starred restaurant in the heart of France’s Champagne region that emphasizes haute cuisine and superior Champagnes. Diners of the Gala Dinner will also be offered complimentary entry to a chic cocktail party at Salon de Ning to conclude the evening with classic French joie de vivre.
