Synopsis
Don Giovanni is a reckless and seductive nobleman whose pursuit of pleasure leads to deadly consequences. One night, he breaks into the home of the Commendatore in an attempt to seduce his daughter, Donna Anna. The Commendatore intervenes and is killed in a duel. Donna Anna and her fiancé, Don Ottavio, vow to avenge her father’s death.
On the run, Don Giovanni and his servant Leporello encounter Donna Elvira, a former lover whom he has abandoned. Leporello reveals Don Giovanni’s extensive list of conquests to Elvira, exposing his unrepentant ways. Don Giovanni soon sets his sights on Zerlina, a newlywed peasant girl, but is thwarted by Elvira. Meanwhile, Donna Anna recognizes Don Giovanni as her father’s murderer, and his crimes are exposed—but he escapes once again.
In the second act, Don Giovanni and Leporello swap clothes to deceive others, but their trickery is soon uncovered. In a graveyard, they encounter the statue of the slain Commendatore, who warns Don Giovanni to change his ways…
