Salt Linchaoyang
In 2008, he became famous for composing the soundtrack of the TV series "The Way of Life is Changing" and became one of the top film composers in China. To date, he has composed the soundtracks of more than forty films and TV dramas, including "Snail's Nest", "Mobile Phone", "Leaves Fall in Peace", "Tangshan Earthquake", "If Life Deceives You", "The Xinhai Revolution", "Ten Years of Love", "Gate to the Holy Heaven" and "The Legend of Yi".
In 2017, Salt arranged and produced the pop album "Unbound", which was nominated for ten awards at the 2nd CMA Singing Committee Music Awards 2018 and won Best Album Production and Best Mixing Engineering, Arranger of the Year at the 18th Chinese Music Media Awards, Top 10 Chinese Albums Award and Jury Prize at the 2018 Chinese Golden Melody Awards, among many other accolades.
In 2018, Salt returned to the classical music scene with the launch of his solo recital series tour "SALT" and chamber music series "Bon Ami Trio" "Best Friends Trio".
In 2019, Salt is signed to Universal Music Group and releases the album "Tides".
In 2020, Salt will publish his latest academic book "Lin Chaoyang's DNA Method for Violin Teaching" and conduct teacher training across the country.
Lin studied violin at an early age with Mr Lin Yi Niu in Shanghai, and then at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where he studied with professors Zhang Shixiang, Zhou Bingyou and Ding Zhi Nuo. Professor Zorya Sikhmusayeva (of the Yampolsky school)
In 1997, Salt founded the Beijing Quartet and studied with masters such as Amadeus Quartet, Praha Quartet, Alben Berg Quartet and Bartok Quartet. 2000, the Beijing Quartet was invited to perform in the first Beijing International Music Festival and its musical activities were taken into the Oscar-winning The Beijing Quartet was invited by Mr Isaac Stern to perform at the Miyazaki International Music Festival in Japan, following the sequel to the documentary From Mao To Mozart II.
Yan has taught at the Central Conservatory of Music for 26 years and has trained many musicians, including: Wang Xiaomao (Principal of the Central Ballet Orchestra), Yang Ying (Principal of the Central Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra), Zhang Jingye (Principal of the Beijing Symphony Orchestra), Wang Congcong (international competition winner), Xie Tianren (international competition winner), Wang Chaofan (international competition winner), Kwong Tzu Ching (international competition winner) Dong Zi Yi (international competition winner), Han Yixuan (international competition winner), Xu Jiahe (international competition winner), etc. Many of his students have served in orchestras around the world. Over the years, Yan has published numerous academic violin books, including "Violin Performance Method", "Suzuki Method", "Song of the Wanderer", "Polish Dance", "Introduction and Tarantella", etc. His monographs on violin technique, "Secrets of Violin Performance" and "Lin Chaoyang's Violin Genetic Method", have received widespread attention from the violin academia. In 2020, Salt founded the Weidenberg International Music Project, a performance series called "Future Masters", and collaborated with Mr. Jin Xiaolong to establish the "Suzhou Music Camp" to provide a platform for young musicians to learn and perform.
