The Quorum Dance Company's new work "Romeo and Juliet" was born from the desire to continue exploring classic works, continuing the creations carried out in works such as Daniel Cardoso's Swan Lake and "Spring Festival", connecting them with today's life and society. The choreographer will take on the challenge of paying tribute to William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and presenting a new creation.
The new version of dance "Romeo and Juliet" will lead us into a romantic world of love, which can do everything and no one can destroy it. It is a blind love, a love so powerful that even death cannot overcome it. Can this story be transplanted into today’s society in an era when self-centered, self-interested, and self-indulgent have become one of the main focus of our lives?
As a work closely related to people, Romeo and Juliet is considered by most cultures to be the greatest love story. The choreography of Daniel Cardoso and Sergey Prokofiev’s music aims to inspire the audience to think about the most precious things in our lives and what we often ignore – love.
