A world-renowned symphony orchestra, one of Britain's most distinguished and highly regarded orchestras.
Initiated and founded by Richard Strauss, the Philharmonia Orchestra has collaborated with many world-renowned composers and conductors, including masters such as Karajan, Toscanini and Muti. This China tour, directed by LAN SHUI, one of the most famous Chinese conductors today, together with the French national treasure pianist JEAN-EFFLAM BAVOUZET, will perform a masterpiece, inviting you to meet at the end of the year!
Philharmonia Orchestra:
The Philharmonia Orchestra was founded in 1945. The Finnish conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali has been appointed Chief Conductor of the Philharmonia Orchestra in September 2021.The Philharmonia Orchestra occupies an important position on the international music scene for its artistic excellence, rich performance history and contribution to music education.

The orchestra consists of 80 distinguished musicians from 17 different countries. The great artists with whom the orchestra has collaborated throughout its history include Herbert von Karajan, Otto-Klemperer, Wilhelm Furtwängler, Carlo-Maria-Giulini, Arturo Toscanini, Riccardo Muti and Esa-Pekka Salonen. Pekka Salonen, in addition to premieres of works by Richard Strauss, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Errolene Wallen, Kaija Saariaho, Anna Klein, Brian Taylor, Bing Lin and others.
Since 1995, the orchestra has been in residence at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Center, London. In addition, the orchestra has held residencies in Bedford, Leicester, Canterbury, Basingstoke, Garsington Opera House and the UK's three major choir festivals. The Philharmonia's long-standing and highly regarded Learning & Engagement program enables people to interact and engage with the orchestra. For the 2023/24 season, the Philharmonia Orchestra's guest artists are violinist Nicola Benedetti and soprano Julia Bullock. Sarod player and producer Soumik Datta is the Orchestra's Artist in Residence. In the fall, the Philharmonia Orchestra's concert series Let Freedom Speak: a Celebration of the American Voice explores the diversity of American music and the creative exchange between classical music and jazz. The British Philharmonic's international reputation has been built in large part on the orchestra's extraordinary recording tradition and cutting-edge digital technology, with technical installations and virtual reality experiences that have enabled hundreds of thousands of audiences to learn more about the symphony orchestra.

The Philharmonia Orchestra is the orchestra of choice for many British and Hollywood film and game soundtrack composers, and millions of moviegoers and gamers have enjoyed these musical compositions in films and games. The orchestra's history of film scoring dates back to 1947 and it has recorded around 150 film scores to date. The orchestra has over three million listeners on Spotify each month, and the YouTube channel features sections including free performances, instrument guides, artist interviews, and in-depth documentaries. The British Philharmonic Orchestra's performances are also broadcast widely on Classic FM and BBC Radio 3. The orchestra has toured Europe, Asia and the United States. In the 2023/24 season, the Orchestra will perform in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and Spain. The Philharmonia Orchestra's Emerging Artists Program aims to increase diversity in the classical music industry and develop a new generation of performers, composers and conductors.
