"The Kammerphilharmonie has me for as long as it wants me."(Paavo Järvi) Paavo Järvi and The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen are united by the language of music and a desire to continually develop and improve. The recordings of Beethoven's nine symphonies – for which Paavo Järvi received the 2010 ECHO Klassik Conductor of the Year award – and the orchestra's live performances of the complete Beethoven symphony cycle in Yokohama, Lanaudière, Paris, Strasbourg, Warsaw, Bonn and Salzburg have received the highest public and critical acclaim.

Paavo Järvi was destined to love music. He was born in Tallinn in 1962, the elder son of the esteemed Estonian conductor Neeme Järvi. He studied conducting and percussion in Estonia before moving to the United States in 1980, where he continued his studies at the Curtis Institute of Music and at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute with Leonard Bernstein. In 1995 he returned to Europe to assume the first major post in his conducting career – Principal Conductor of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. Other key positions were with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his role as Artistic Director of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Paavo Järvi is currently the Music Director of the Orchestre de Paris and Chief conductor of NHK Symphony Orchestra. He is also Artistic Adviser to the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and Järvi Summer Festival in Pärnu. Paavo Järvi has been awarded "Artist of the Year" by the French magazine Diapason. This was the second major award in 2015 for Paavo Järvi who was also honoured with the same title in September by Gramophone Magazine in London.
