Piano: Wang Chao
Wang Chao, a young pianist living in Germany, Ph.D. (Konzertexam) at the Berlin University of the Arts, Germany,
won the bronze medal at the Takamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan as the youngest participant at the age of 16,
and won the gold medal and the best Li Si at the European Piano Competition in Normandy, France at the age of 23.
Special Works Performance Award, Kawai Award and Audience Favorite Award.
He was hailed as "a pianist with a palette-like sound" by the French National Classical Music Radio.
At the same time, he is also the winner of many well-known international piano competitions,
including the second prize at the Epinal International Piano Competition, one of the two top competitions in France;
the P.STREIT Award at the Geneva International Piano Competition in Switzerland; the second prize at the Muse International Piano Competition in
Greece Second place; first place in Berlin Arthur Schnabel Piano Competition; first place in Bucharest International Youth Piano Competition in Romania;
first place in Hong Kong TOYAMA Asia Youth Piano Competition, etc.
With the arrival of many awards and concerts, the name Wang Chao has also become more and more active on the international stage.
He has cooperated with the Chinese Academy of Music, the China Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra,
and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Central Conservatory of Music, and has successfully held hundreds of piano recitals around the world.
He has been invited to perform at the Livar Bella Music Festival in France, the Verbier Music Festival in Switzerland, the Beethoven Music Festival in
Bonn, Germany, the Wiesel Piano Summer in Germany, the Shaoxing Ruoye Music Festival in China and the Bailu Music Festival in Sichuan.
In the second half of 2016, Wang Chao started a solo world tour, performing in
Berlin, Germany, Paris, France, Takamatsu, Japan, Beijing and Shanghai, China.
He was invited by "Bazaar Men" and "Style" magazines for an exclusive interview and photo shoot,
and twice became the cover title of "Beijing Youth Weekly",
becoming the youngest pianist to be published. In recent years, news about him has appeared in hundreds of media at home and abroad,
including Eurovision, Lithuanian National Television, Japan's NHK Television, China Central Television, Beijing Television, Shanghai Radio,
and China National Radio. He is known as "the most promising pianist born in the 1990s".
His live concert DVD "Rachmaninoff: Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" released in Japan in 2006 was widely praised by the Japanese media at the time.
The successful performance at the 55th anniversary celebration concert of the Takamatsu Symphony Orchestra in Japan
was evaluated by Shikoku Shimbun as "a pianist who possesses splendid skills and also contains moving emotions and honest tones".
In 2015, his first solo album "Liszt and Chopin" was released and published worldwide by the German Acousence record company.
In 2018, the Mainland China version was published by Jingwen Records and logged on to music platforms such as
QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, Xiami Music and Kugou Music.
In 2021, Wang Chao's first vinyl album "Capicina Avenue" will be released, and the repertoire is composed of piano pieces from the Impressionist period.
The album has also become the only impressionist album recorded by a Chinese pianist in the vinyl field.
In addition to specializing in the field of classical music, he has also begun to be invited for cross-border cooperation.
He first participated in the China premiere of Ice Star in 2017, and presented the performance in cooperation with
world champions Chen Lu and Pang Qing Tong Jian at the Capital Gymnasium.
The perfect combination of figure skating and classical music was broadcast by CCTV5+.
Then in 2018, he was invited to be the music director of the China He Fashion Global Floral Trend Seminar,
arranging and performing more than 100 songs for the event.
In April 2019, at the invitation of singer-songwriter Wang Sulong, he recorded iQIYI's self-made variety show "I Am a Singer and Composer",
which was well known to the public.
The song "Weird" co-produced by him has over 100 million views.
In 2020, he participated in the recording of Jiangsu Satellite TV's "One Stop to the End" program,
and became the star promoter of the Singapore International Piano Competition in the same year.
From 2003 to 2007, Wang Chao studied at the High School Attached to the Central Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Professor Jin Aiping.
In 2008, he was admitted to the Hans Eisler State Conservatory of Music in Berlin, Germany, under the tutelage of Michel Andres and Fabie. O. Bittini,
who was subsequently appreciated by the famous piano educator Klaus Hewisch,
followed him to study at the Berlin University of the Arts in 2011, and received his Ph.D. in 2017.
