About the Show:
The original stage play Murder on the Orient Express is adapted from one of Agatha Christie’s most iconic detective masterpieces. Renowned playwright Ken Ludwig brings this legendary locked-room murder mystery to life with his masterful adaptation, perfectly capturing the intricate crime, the tense and methodical investigation, and the stunning twist that has captivated readers and audiences around the world.
The production is led by director Lucy Bailey and set designer Mike Britton, the acclaimed creative team behind the original stage success And Then There Were None. Their signature high-quality production and immersive staging are carried forward here, with the luxurious train setting meticulously recreated and the gripping pace of the story delivering an unparalleled theatrical experience.
Following its UK premiere in 2024 and a widely praised tour across the UK and Ireland, Murder on the Orient Express will embark on its first tour in China from October to December 2025. After the success of And Then There Were None, this new production is set to once again bring an authentic Agatha Christie stage classic to Chinese audiences.
Synopsis:
Winter 1934 and an avalanche stops The Orient Express dead in its tracks. A murder. A train full of suspects. An impossible case. Trapped in the snow with a killer still on-board, can the world’s most famous detective, Hercule Poirot, crack the case before the train reaches its final destination?
