We are delighted to announce that the outstanding Portuguese guitarist Marta Pereira da Costa will perform for the very first time in China’s Mainland, in Shanghai! She will also make history as the first Portuguese artist to appear at the Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai.

 

She has performed on prestigious stages across the world, including the United Nations (New York), Lincoln Center (New York), Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.), SXSW (Austin, USA), as well as in London, Madrid, Hong Kong, Macau and many other cities across Europe and Latin America.

 

 

With fado singer Rodrigo Costa Félix, she recorded the album Fados de Amor — the first album in the history of fado to be entirely performed and recorded on Portuguese guitar by a woman. The record was awarded Best Album of the Year 2012 by the Amália Rodrigues Foundation. She also received the Foundation’s Instrumentalist Award.In 2023, her performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert has reached nearly one million views, boosting her international recognition.

 

In 2024, her debut concerts in Porto and Lisbon were completely sold out, highlighting her acclaim at home.In 2025, she won the Instrumental Award at the International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMA). She was also nominated for Best Fado Album at the Play — Portuguese Music Awards with her record Sem Palavras.
