Mark Padmore
Mark Padmore was born in London and educated at King’s College, Cambridge. Regarded as one of the most acclaimed artists among his generation of singers, he has built an international career spanning opera, symphonic concerts, and recitals. Highlights of his recital career include performances of Schubert’s Winterreise (with pianist Mitsuko Uchida) at Carnegie Hall in New York, the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, and the University of California, Berkeley. A regular performer at Wigmore Hall, Padmore served as the venue’s "Artist in Residence" for the 2021/22 season.

 

In the field of symphonic concerts, Padmore has collaborated with the world’s leading orchestras. He was "Artist in Residence" with the Berliner Philharmoniker for the 2017/18 season and held the same position with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks during the 2016/17 season. In his projects with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, he explored conductorless interpretations of Bach’s St John Passion and St Matthew Passion—a series of performances that garnered global acclaim.

 

Padmore was named "Vocalist of the Year" by Musical America in 2016, and in 2019, he was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the UK’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

 

 

Imogen Cooper
Widely recognized as one of the foremost interpreters of Classical and Romantic repertoire, Imogen Cooper has earned international renown for her exceptional technical mastery and lyrical expressivity. Her recent and upcoming concerto engagements include collaborations with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks (with Sir Simon Rattle), the London Symphony Orchestra (with Manfred Honeck), and the Hallé Orchestra (with Sir Mark Elder).

 

Throughout her international career, Cooper has performed with numerous top-tier orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Berliner Philharmoniker, Wiener Philharmoniker, Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, and the NHK Symphony Orchestra (Japan). She has appeared at the BBC Proms and collaborated with all major UK orchestras.

 

In 2021, Cooper was appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the UK’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List. She has received numerous honors and awards, including the Queen’s Medal for Music (2019) and the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Instrumentalist Award (2008). Cooper served as Chair of the Jury for the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2021 and 2024.
