As a national intangible cultural heritage, the Yuyuan Lantern Festival has become a landmark Chinese New Year cultural event in Shanghai since it was held in 1995, and has been held for 28 times so far. In 2024, the Yuyuan Lantern Festival will usher in the 29th blooming of the festival, and unveil the mystery of the starry sea in the strong flavour of the New Year.

On 15th December, the theme light set "One Night Fish and Dragon Dance" will be lit up simultaneously with the French Lantern Festival in Shanghai Yuyuan Garden. In the sky above Ningshui Road of Shanghai Yuyuan Garden, the colourful fish converge to form a swimming dragon, swimming between the eaves and arches, bringing the prosperous scene of the Lantern Festival of the New Year's Eve depicted in Xin Qiji's "The Case of the Green Jade - New Year's Eve" to the present day and night.
