In this dance, musical and poetic fable a dancer with many papers, a musician, a bass, puppets origami, meet to evoke a dreamlike world in perpetual transformation.
About
In Japanese the word kami has several meanings including "spirit" and also the paper. The kami are mostly the spirits of nature, animals and the creative forces of the universe. Duokami meets a bassist and a dancer in an imaginary world evoked by the papers of all kinds: tissue paper, craft, blank page, rolls …
Animated by the spirit of the player "kami", the ephemeral and changing scenery will lead the two artists in destabilizing situations, strange, poetic and surreal, causing them to adapt and invent every moment a new story.
We offer through this show, a reflection on the fragility of life, the nature of the relationship to another, evoking natural elements changing: tissue paper, abstract color spot becomes cloud, rain, plant; a blank page a building, a window, a screen conducive to the emergence of origami animals, a sheet of craft paper becomes mountain, desert, clothing, headgear, paper tape becomes way ... and in this fragile world, a man and a woman trying to communicate, trained in a paper whirlwind to find himself turning a dance, metamorphosed.
The music will emerge as well as the instrument of the body of the dancer unless it is ripped paper, hit, shaken. Bass, both puppet, shelter, ship, animal with multiple arms, will offer all its sound pallets, noise music with lyrical, going through tribal polyrhythms moments. Of origami used as puppets create a touch naive in this abstract universe constantly changing. The vocabulary used will be made of sound, movement guided by sensory status, body and bass for landscape. We will use as inspiration haiku, poems of with subject nature, our relationship to the world and movement.

Project Origin
As an associated artist with Company « Porte voix », Bérengère Altieri-Leca, with the complicity of Florence Goguel, plunged in the heart of childhood. The Okami duo bass / dance is born during this experience when improvised course in nursery (for children 6 months to 2 years), and in workshops organized by the theater of Epinay sur Seine in two city schools, on the theme of the relationship between dance, music and paper with average children and kindergarten.
Creation process
Having worked during 4 years with the company Philippe Genty, Bérengère Altieri-Leca wishes to make a synthesis of her work between the dance, the puppets and the music. In continuation of a process begun there many years on the musician report she continues her research on the relationship between instrumental gesture and dance gesture and the body of the report with the instrument.
After working with many musicians from the jazz and improvised music (Guillaume Orti, Norbert Lucarain, Seiji Murayama, Antoine Banville, Jean-Luc Priano, Gonzalo Campo, Jean-Marie Maddedu François Michaud ...), she begins work specific for to honor the bass instruments and creates the Tubadanse duo with Pascal Rousseau presented in several places in Paris and province. This duo is suitable for young children in a crèche in residence with the help of the General Council of the Seine -St Denis, and support of the company « Porte voix » under the gaze of Florence Goguel, director the company.
This is in line with this approach is also pursuing this research with bassist Frédéric Marty. Build bridges between different artistic disciplines, finding a universal common language through communication based on the sensory and body condition, recover the original state of the game, are the main axes of Bérengère Altieri-Leca research work. Frederic Marty, after tackling all musical styles, from rock to jazz, latin music and classical music, directs his work on free improvisation and has worked for many years with butoh dancers and contemporary dancers. In this form of musical expression without hierarchy instrumentally, all bass stamps can express.
His research leads her naturally to explore the links between sound and gesture in a dialogue based on listening and internalizing quality and imagination that results.
