

Datong, historically named as “Yunzhong” or “Yunzhou”, was once vividly described by the Northern Wei geographer Li Daoyuan in his Shui Jing Zhu, Notes on the book of waterways: “The mountain Halls, water pavilions, veiled in mist, they gaze each other.” This exhibition presents a total of 104 pieces, including artifacts from the Yungang Grottoes, 3D-reconstructed cave replicas, contemporary artworks, and 30 minutes original digital artwork.
