Event details

Professor Andreas Weber and Professor Luz Leskowitz of the University Mozarteum will perform together with the Chinese pianist Xiaofu Ju at the Shanghai Grand Theater.
 
Luz Leskowitz
 
Born in Salzburg and started to play violin at the age of six. At the age of thirteen, he was admitted to the Music-Academy in Vienna where he studied with Vasa Prihoda and later with Riccardo Odnoposoff. At the Mozarteum in Salzburg, he studied viola and violin with Ernst Wallfisch. After that studies with Ernst Wallfisch in Lucerne and with Yehudi Menuhin in London. Luz started a successful career with concerts in Europe, the Far and the Middle East, Africa, the USA (New York - Carnegie recital-hall and Alice Tully hall in Lincoln Centre) South America, Russia, Korea and Japan.

Inspired by the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad Luz Leskowitz founded his first Chamber Music Festival in Germany, the Harzburger Musiktage in 1970. Motivated by the enormous success of his festival, he then founded 11 other International Chamber Music Festivals and Competitions in Austria, in Russia, in Korea, in Romania and all over Germany. Luz was the first and only one who started together with Hermann Baumann the "First International Hand-Horn Competition". In 1979, he formed his own ensemble, the Salzburger Solisten. Since its formation, the ensemble performs regularly all over the world (Vienna-Musikverein, Amsterdam-Concertgebouw, London-Wigmore Hall, Milano – Verdi-Hall, Moscow-Rachmaninow-hall/Conservatory etc.).

Andreas Weber began his pianistic education at the Music University of Cologne with Prof. Karin Merle and continued with Prof. Hans Leygraf at the University of Music in Salzburg. His gives concerts as a soloist and as chamber musician in Europe and Asia, i.a. with the Trio Cartellieri and with the Violinist Albert Fischer. Television recordings in Austria, Korea and China. He holds many Masterclasses in Korea, China, Germany and Belgium and is member of jury in national and international piano competitions in Germany, Austria, China and Korea. He made CD recordings with the Cellist Hanna Spielbüchler (Brahms, Schubert and Franck) as well with the Violinist Albert Fischer (Mozart, Brahms, Schubert) and with the Trio Cartellieri (Turina, Takacs, Piazzolla) Since 2002 Andreas Weber is professor for piano at the University Mozarteum and since 2005 he is the head of the Leopold-Mozart-Institut for highly talented young students and is promoting young talents at national and international level. Since 2009 he is professor at the International Summer Academy of Mozarteum. Many of his students are prize winners of international piano competitions.
 
Ju Xiaofu
 
He began to learn piano at the age of 4. From the age of 7, he began to perform on stage. Ju Xiaofu successively took pianist Xu Jun, Zhou Ting and China famous piano master Liu Shikun as his teacher. He was the first signing piano performer of Pearl River Piano Group.

He was awarded the second prize in 2013 Pearl River Piano --Kayserburg national youth piano competition. Won double golden prize in the second annual Hong Kong international youth piano competition. He won special gold medal in the fourth Singapore international Chinese. He won the first prize of the two groups in the 8th Asia piano competition finals (Kuala Lumpur), and 2013 Hong Kong youth philharmonic distinguished "pianist in group".
