I. Introduction

We will meet many people in our life. We all hope to encounter the friend who shares the same interest with us, the bosom. In the historical dialogue crossing time, bosom is a kind of valuable rendezvous in seeking; missing could be a life-long pity. An ideal bosom friend is always followed by the pity of hard seeking in real. However, this could be the important power to push the art expression of human emotions to be improved and recovered. The ideal world and pity in reality will both become the color and power of life.

II. Introduction of the show

The story of Boya and Ziqi is quite well-known. YU Boya is a representative from the literati and officialdom level while ZHONG Ziqi is a woodcutter from the bottom in the society. The main idea of the piece is that the true friendship is not judged by social stratum, by born and family background or by wealth and fortune. The bosom is the confidence, understanding and admiring between friends.

III. Synopsis

The core topic is the questioning of humanity, with the deconstruction of this famous ancient story by adding a character of “Boya’s wife” between YU Boya and ZHONG Ziqi. The piece zooms out the deep emotion in Boya’s heart and makes the cruel choice of humanity to be the core part.

The piece tries to cross the time and space, by questioning humanity and morality, to discover the nature of life and how to chase the ideal state of life in the conflict of real humanity.


Showing an uncommon over-centuries emotion by intelligent dancing

Eternal Friendship gathers the famous domestic choreographers, stage directors and designers, showing the classic emotions by modern arts. Dancing master SHEN Peiyi and JIANG Dong guide ZHU Han, the dancer of new generation and the grand slam participator of Chinese and American dancing champion competition, and CHANG Hongji, the welcomed candidate in Dance Smash, to reproduce the bosom friends of thousands years in a modern view.

A creative merging of classic conception and modern music

The creating team pursues bold innovation on the basis of traditional Chinese culture. In the aspect of music, the classical string songs are played and composed with the modern phonetic symbols. The theme song in modern style conforms to the theme of the plot. The strings sing incessantly and the friends last forever.

The thick basis of traditional Chinese culture is rooted in the intelligence of dance and the sound of music. The unique art characteristics are based on Chinese artistic conception and showed via the clothes, color and dancing languages in the piece. The dancers deliver the historical sadness, gains and losses over thousands years by their movements.

【Introductions of characters】

YU Boya: a man born in a literati and officialdom family, with superb music skill and is quite loyal to friends. In the scene he wants to be a life-long friend with ZHONG Ziqi but finally he obeyed his wife’s comments to cut off with Ziqi. Although such a choice is in accordance with common value but Boya feels painful in his heart.

Boya’s wife: a woman born in a famous family of literati and officialdom stratum. She loves Boya deeply but is lacking of empathy and understanding with Boya on music. In the scene she takes the differences of stratum and identity as excuses to obstruct the communication between Boya and Ziqi.

ZHONG Ziqi: a woodcutter from the bottom of society. He isn’t educated while he can understand the meaning of Boya’s music. In the scene he tries to breakout the obstacles of secular value and to make friends with Boya, but is stopped by Boya’s wife and the gap of stratum. He finally leaves Boya and goes back to his hometown.

Graduated from the Department of Chinese Classical Dance of Beijing Dance Academy, state first-class artist, young dancer, master's degree, young teacher of the Dance Drama Department of the Central Academy of Drama, director of Fengtai District Dancers Association in Beijing, member of the 13th Jiangxi Provincial Youth Federation, popular contestant of Zhejiang TV's “So You Think You Can Dance” and Grand Slam winner of China-US dance competitions.

Awarded the 2nd prize in the 8th "Peach and Plum Cup" Dance Competition, the performance prize in the 7th "National Dance Competition", the special prize in the "Wenhua Award" of the Ministry of Culture, the best actor award in the 4th "Ethnic Minority Performances" competition, the best Chinese dancer prize in the 15th Tripod Award, the outstanding individual contribution prize of Beijing Performance & Arts Group, and the title of “the most popular young dancer” in the Exhibition of Outstanding Talents and Excellent Achievements in the Beijing Dance Competition over the last 30 Years.
