Echo Choirs was founded in May 2009 and funded by the Office of Graduate Students’ Affairs of Fudan University, it consists of a roster of excellent singers who love choral singing. The chorus is home to not only students and alumni of Fudan University, but also those from all kinds of Shanghai Universities.
In December 2010, Echo participated in the 2nd A Cappella Choir Competition of Shanghai, came in first in the semi-final and won the championship in the final.
In July 2012, Echo was awarded the silver medal in the 11th China International Choral Festival in Beijing.
In December 2012, Echo held the concert of English Choral Works at the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra’s Chamber Concert Series and the He Lu-Ting Concert Hall of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
In May 2013, in cooperation with three-time Grammy Award winner Chanticleer, Echo presented a lecture-concert at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center.
In November 2013, Echo released the two-CD album Echo Chamber Singers.
In December 2013, Echo held concerts of French Choral Works at the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra’s Chamber Concert Series and the He Lu-Ting Concert Hall of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
In April 2014, Echo released the album Musique chorale française.
In December 2014, Echo held the concert of German-Austrian Choral Works I at the He Lu-Ting Hall.
In May 2015, under the direction of Mr. Yong Mao, one of the most internationally renowned young choral conductors in China, Echo held two concerts of Western Contemporary Choral Works at the He Lu-Ting Hall.
In October 2015, Echo cooperated with Chanticleer for the second time, hosting master classes at Hai Shang Culture Center.
In December 2015, Echo held the concert of American Choral Works at the He Lu-Ting Hall.
In December 2015, Echo released the album Musik und Alte Städte.
In May 2016, Echo held the concert of Flower at He Lu-Ting Hall.
In August 2016, Echo held 7th Anniversary Concert at Shanghai Oriental Art Center.
In December 2016, Echo participated in the 5th A Cappella Choir Competition of Shanghai, won the championship of the Adult Group in the final.
In December 12, Echo held Echo & SSO Christmas Concert at Shanghai Symphony Hall.
In May 2017, Echo held a concert of Latin-American Choral Works at Shanghai Huangpu Theatre.
In July 2017, Echo held a concert of Song of Everlasting Sorrow-Herald of Modern Chinese Choral & Vocal Music at Shanghai Symphony Hall.
In August 2017, Echo released the album Always Be with You-Songs for Fudan, which was delivered to each 2017 Fudan freshmen by admission letters.
In November and December 2017, Echo held a concert of Chinese Works at Shanghai Oriental Art Center and Shanghai Symphony Hall respectively.
