Where dreams and reality converge within the urban fabric, surrealist master Salvador Dalí is poised to embark upon a new chapter within this century-old Shanghai landmark. From melting clocks to fluid forms, Dalí's fantastical realm will resonate profoundly with the historic spaces of the Bund. Titled ‘Departure’, the exhibition not only pays homage to Dali's boundless artistic exploration but also sees the Old Municipal Building – a structure steeped in the city's memory – embark on a new journey through the play of light and shadow. Featuring over 150 masterpieces including sculptures, jewellery, glass art and prints, the exhibition showcases several rare pieces personally signed by Dali and brought to China for the first time. Within the century-old structure, dreams and reality, history and the present intertwine to create a dual journey of art and city.
