Christine Tassan et les Imposteures whisks us away in a musical frenzy celebrating gypsy jazz with a repertoire of songs and instrumental pieces, that brings together a colorful show that's playful, poetic and funny, with a devilish swing that is supported by some surprising arrangements.

 

 

Their bright horn sounds stand out opposite the 100% gypsy groove of the four string players. Their communicative energy and the personal bond between them is what hits home the most.

 

 

Christine Tassan et les Imposteures, are first and foremost good friends who have harnessed their energies and their voices to give rise to the fruit of their creativity.

 

 

Christine Tassan was born in France, but emigrated to Quebec in 1994. Her musical migration led from her first love, singing, through classical guitar and songwriting before bringing her to a serious study of Swing guitar à la Django. You can recognize and enjoy all these influences in the music she makes with Christine Tassan et les Imposteures.

 

 

 

 

A remarkable violinist, Martine Gaumond makes her instrument vibrate with a high voltage that affects the crowd with equal intensity. An excellent improvisator, she handles her bow with disarming ease.
