Beyond the Bund are delighted to announce the release of their 2nd Chinese Whispers Chapter: The Tempest. Following the success of the first Chapter - ‘Stories Before Me’, where our Elderly shared stories of her family growing up behind a glamorous backdrop of 1930’s Shanghai, we are now excited to finally release Chapter II.
After months of further development, work and artistic curation we are finally eager to resume the story where it was left off. Diana Wang will continue telling her personal breathtaking story, accompanied by the lyrical movements of award-winning Russian twin dancers Maria and Nadia Gudenko. The two Russian dancers will characterize the story through emotive movement, all of which is pieced together by music producer Mackey Landy.
All of our contributors, from storytellers, scriptwriters and dancers, to music and lighting producers have all worked intimately together with our Shanghainese Elderly in the past months. All coming together to tell a story as one single body for this amazing saga.
Join us on May 17th and 18th to find out what’s next for Chinese Whispers, and live China’s history through the memories of a Shanghainese Elder.
