Jakub Józef Orliński - Countertenor
One of the most beloved and celebrated opera stars of this decade, Jakub Józef Orliński has established himself as one of the world’s leading artists, triumphing on stage, in concert, and in recording. His sold-out concerts and recitals throughout Europe, America and Asia have attracted new followers to the art form. His album #LetsBaRock was released in September 2024, following the success of Beyond, which was released in October 2023; both albums will continue to tour the world through the 2025/26 season. Orliński has been the recipient of many prestigious awards such as the Opus Klassik award for Male Singer of the Year (2023), the Gloria Artis Gold Medal for Merit to Culture in Poland (2024), the BBC Music Magazine Award for his performance in Beyond, Great Britain (2024), the International Classical Music Award for his album Anima Aeterna, France (2022), as well as two Grammy nominations for recordings of Agrippina and Eurydice.
Jakub has a global fanbase with hundreds of thousands of social media followers and has worked as a model and influencer with international brands including Rolex, Netflix, Orange, Louis Vuitton, Levi’s, Nike, BMW, Lacoste, and MAC Cosmetics. He is also an accomplished breakdancer –prizes include fourth place at the Red Bull BC One Poland Cypher competition, and second place at both the Stylish Strike – Top Rock Contest and The Style Control competition. Few other opera singers can claim to have conquered the stages of the world’s greatest concert halls and the covers of Polish Vogue, Esquire, and Elle, but this is a testament to Jakub’s unique pop star appeal. His “ravishing” (The Guardian) live performances have sold out concert halls and opera houses all over the world.
For the upcoming 2025/26 season, Orliński is set to continue his dynamic presence on the global stage with a series of exciting concerts, recitals, and tours. The start of the season will see him embark on a #LetsBaRock tour across Europe, his innovative live project with Aleksander Dębicz. Further highlights include two highly anticipated Wigmore Hall recitals in London, a return to the Wiener Konzerthaus with Il Pomo d’Oro for their Beyond programme, as well as performances of Handel's Messiah alongside Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Philadelphia Orchestra. The beginning of 2026 will bring him back onto the opera stage as Athamas in Handel's Semele at the Dutch National Opera before he embarks on a tour performing Handel’s Giulio Cesare across Europe with Il Pomo d’Oro. He also performs various recitals across Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Shanghai, followed by a broader European recital tour in May-June 2026.
In the 2024/25 season, Orliński continued his extensive European tour of his album Beyond with Il Pomo d’Oro, and debuted his project #LetsBaRock with Aleksander Dębicz at Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and at Kammermusiksaal of the Berliner Philharmoniker. He performed the role of Ottone in Agrippina at Opernhaus Zurich, and had many oratorio performances, including Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and Handel’s Deborah in Utrecht, Paris, Vienna, and Bayreuth. Previous season highlights include performances on the prestigious stages of the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of the BBC Proms, Opéra Royal in Versailles, The Athens Epidaurus Festival, and the Edinburgh International Festival. Orliński was also an acclaimed performer at the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

His album, Beyond, released in October 2023, was named one of The Times’ best classical albums of the year. In September 2024, he released #LetsBaRock, an innovative album reimagining baroque music with contemporary instruments, including drums, bass guitar and moog.

Il pomo d’oro plays charity concerts and offers workshops and music lessons according to the El Sistema method on a frequent regular basis in various refugee camps in Greece.
The name of the ensemble il pomo d'oro refers to Antonio Cesti's opera from the year 1666. Composed to the wedding celebrations of Emperor Leopold I and Margarita Teresa of Spain, Il Pomo d'Oro was probably one of the largest, most expensive and most spectacular opera productions in the still young history of the genre. 24 different stage designs, a horse-ballet of 300 horses, a fireworks display of 73,000 rockets, numerous ‚special effects'- superlatives, which should make the Emperor's court the highlight of cultural splendour in Europe.
