We invite Antonia Tamer, Addie Hamilton, and other famous Chinese artists to this concert! Let's enjoy it.
Soprano Antonia Tamer has become noted in recent seasons as a young artist of striking promise. Ms. Tamer enjoys a particularly strong relationship with Boston Lyric Opera, where she covered the title role of Tosca (2017) and Frasquita in Carmen (2016), in addition to creating Madge Docherty in the world premiere of The Nefarious, Immoral But Highly Profitable Enterprise of Mr. Burke & Mr. Hare. She rejoins the company for their 2019 production of The Rape of Lucretia, in which she will make her role debut as the Female Chorus.
In 2017, Ms. Tamer joined Portland Opera to make her role debut as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte and to cover Mimì in La bohème. She returns to Portland Opera in 2019 to make further role debuts: Berta in Il barbiere di Siviglia and Arminda in Mozart's early masterpiece La finta giardiniera. She has also appeared with the Natchez Music Festival in the title role of Madama Butterfly and with Opera San José as the Sandman in Hänsel und Gretel and Suor Dolcina in Suor Angelica.
Soprano Addie Hamilton has been praised for her “velvety, clear voice” (New York Times). A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Ms. Hamilton has for the last two years been studying and performing in New York City.
Ms. Hamilton has performed a number of roles in her career, most recently playing Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Charlotte in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music with Manhattan School of Music’s Opera Studio and Theater Ensemble.
