"Ancient Sound of Dunhuang · Songs of a Golden Age" draws its narrative from the world’s first cave-style immersive theatrical experience, Melody of Dunhuang. The story follows the Western Regions musician Bai Xin, who, inspired by the musical frescoes in the Mogao Caves and the ancient scores discovered in the Library Cave (Cave 17), embarks on a journey of creative awakening. He dedicates himself to exploring the diverse fusion of Eastern and Western music, embodying the philosophy that "each form of beauty has its unique charm, and all beauties are shared together."

Centered on restored ancient instruments depicted in murals—such as the Pipa, Lianhua Ruan, Bili, and Pai Xiao—the performance weaves together 15 ancient melodies including Pin Nong, Ji Hu Xiang Wen, and Sa Jin Sha. These musical threads connect four distinct chapters: "Prelude," "Entering the Painting," "Homesickness," "Illusion," and "Splendor," recreating the magnificent fusion of music, dance, poetry, and art found within the Mogao Caves.
Drawing inspiration from ancient Dunhuang music scores, this production blends electronic pop with elements of Raga, Muqam, and Greek music. It serves as a vivid artistic interpretation of the profound concept that "civilizations have become richer and more colorful through exchange and mutual learning."
