Alter. is back with Vienna DJ and producer Wolfram world tour for his new album “Amadeus” on DFA and Public Possession, a newly refined take on the Euro-disco pop he’s become known for. Join us for some Italo disco and Chicago house at the lush Roof Garden at the infamous studio 54’s founder Ian Schrager’s new establishment the Shanghai EDITION.

 

 

Wolfram, formerly known as marfloW and Diskokaine, is a musician and producer from Vienna. He first hit the music scene while spending notable time in New York where he landed his first gigs in early 2002 reviving the forgotten sounds of Italo Disco and Chicago House. It was around this time that he met and collaborated with artists such as PRINCESS SUPERSTAR& LEGOWELT and started releasing tracks on his own label.

 

In 2006 he executively produced and released the SALLY SHAPIRO debut album “Disco Romance” which hit a best new record on Pitchfork Media and introduced a neo-Italo sound to a wider audience. Remixes for MOBY followed as did several 12″ releases on the labels CREME and GOMMA featuring DJ FUNK, MARCUS MIXX, and ALEXANDER ROBOTNICK.

 

His first selftitled album was released in 2011 on the label „PERMANENT VACATION“ and featured HADDAWAY, HERCULES AND LOVE AFFAIR, LEGOWELT, PAUL PARKER, and HOLY GHOST! among others. More recently, Wolfram has released records on JAMES MURPHY’s legendary DFA Records and in 2018 he released a 12“ Vinyl on the label “PUBLIC POSSESSION“.

 

Besides DJing in Clubs he was lucky to DJ for GRACE JONES birthday and for his long-time friend MOBY’s 50th Birthday in L.A.

 

Since 2016 he is based in Paris and is making music for fashion shows/parties of Vivienne Westwood or for example this years upcoming BALENCIAGA party.
