Alina Cojocaru, Super ballet superstar, international guest chief artist, former chief of Royal Ballet, former chief of British National Ballet, permanent guest chief of German Hamburg Ballet.
Alina Cojocaru was born in Bucharest and before joining the Royal Ballet School in 1997, she received seven years of training in Kiev. Six months after completing her studies, she returned to Kiev to join the Ballet as the principal dancer. A year later, she joined the Royal Ballet (November 1999), and at the end of her first season at Kings, she was promoted to a solo dancer. On April 17, 2001, Sir Anthony Doyle promoted Alina to lead dancer after performing "Giselle". Alina joined the British National Ballet in September 2013 as the principal dancer. 8 years later, she left the British National Ballet in 2021 and devoted herself to her creative projects.
She continues to perform in ballet corps around the world as a guest artist and is a permanent guest artist for Hamburg Ballet.
In 2012, Alina premiered her "Alina Koyokaru-Dream Project" in Tokyo, Japan. She directed and performed herself, and performed with friends and colleagues from world-class ballets. The second and third works of the project were successfully implemented in 2014 and 2020, respectively.
In 2015, Alina held a charity party at Lincoln Center, New York, and in 2020, Alina's production company ACWorkroom produced and launched the "Alina at the Sadlers Well Theater" performance.
In 2022, she founded the Alina Cojocaru Foundation.
