HOW Art Museum is pleased to announce that Against This Earth, She Knocks, the research-based art project of JinJin Xu, will be on view from March 31, 2024.  

By examining the unspoken languages and taboos that exist in our most intimate relationships, as well as those that explore our shared boundaries, JinJin Xu's work seeks to capture the collective soundscape of women living on the margins of today's world.

Against This Earth, She Knocks is a combination of documentary films, archival materials, and sound footage collected over the past eight years. Taking a sociological approach, the exhibit is a systematic compilation of her project—exploring the relationship between the viewer, the documenter, and the documented from an interdisciplinary perspective. This research-based art project of JinJin Xu is curated by Tutu Zhu.
