Synopsis

A Teen Odyssey is an immersive theatre experience, that blends live physical performance and digital technology to create an unforgettable journey for teenagers and adults. Exploring themes of personal identity, intergenerational connection, and how we find our tribes, the audience joins the performers on a participatory, visually stunning, and sonically captivating adventure.

Central to the experience is the innovative Kalliôpé app, created by Spanish theatre legends La Fura dels Baus - Fundació Èpica, which uses the audience's mobile phones as the
catalyst for interaction.

A Teen Odyssey transcends theatrical boundaries, interweaving audience, performers and technology in surprising and unforgettable ways.

In a boldly unconventional format, we invite our audience to become vital threads in the ever-evolving tapestry of life. Together we embark on a shared journey - one
that encourages intergenerational connection, reflection, and the forging of new paths through the tangible and digital realms of existence.

A cutting-edge, immersive physical theatre experience from Mallorca combining live physical performance with smartphone interaction. Using La Fura dels Baus' Kalliópê app, the show transforms audience members into active participants, exploring identity, belonging and intergenerational connection. Visually striking and sonically rich, this production is designed to captivate both teens and adults. La Mecànica crafts a unique, high-impact theatrical journey that resonates with contemporary audiences.

The production premiered in January 2024 and has subsequently been presented at Fira Tàrrega, Fira B!, and Festival Ciclop with almost 20 performances in its debut year. In 2025 it has already toured to Mostra d’Igualada (Catalunya), Polis Festival (Italy), Territori Festival (Switzerland) and Out There Festival (United Kingdom) as well as a full Sold-Out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival at Summerhall. In 2026, the tour reached a new milestone, completing a world tour that included countries such as Denmark and Turkey.

This September, we finally made it to Shanghai, China. 

This marks our debut performance of the production in Asia,

with Shanghai being the sole Asian stop on this year's world tour.

Its world tour has spanned Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey……..

 

Creative Team

La Mecànica is an international performing arts production company based in Mallorca, led by women and specialising in physical and visual theatre, as well as the executive production of large-scale international projects. Since its foundation in 2016, the company has built a solid trajectory, combining artistic creation with a strong social and community commitment.
