Oriental Symphony Orchestra
Founded in 2003 and affiliated to China Eastern Performing Arts Group from 2012 to 2015, the Oriental Symphony Orchestra participated in the 2012-2015 season of the Ministry of Culture's direct affiliated theatre groups and received a special award from the Ministry of Culture in 2014.
Wang Chong, Director of Oriental Symphony Orchestra
Violinist and veteran music activist. Since 2012, he has been the director and artistic director of the Oriental Symphony Orchestra, and since the end of 2015, he has successfully established the Baoding Symphony Orchestra and served as its director, adopting the new concept of local symphony orchestras being guided by the government and operated by social capital, once again creating the history of Chinese symphony orchestras. In recent years, he has often served as the artistic director of domestic music festivals and the artistic advisor of domestic youth and children's art competitions, as well as the jury member of special students in universities.
Ying Sun, Guest Conductor of Oriental Symphony Orchestra
Sun Ying is a young conductor who studied in France. He was born in a musical family. He studied piano with Prof. Zhou Guangren and Prof. Ye Huifang since her childhood. He was the rehearsal conductor of the orchestra of the Central Conservatory of Music and the Primary School. He has good cooperation with the Central Ballet Symphony Orchestra, the China Film Orchestra, the China Opera and Dance Theatre Symphony Orchestra and the Xu Beihong Art Institute Symphony Orchestra of Renmin University.
After graduating, he went to France to study at the Conservatoire des Hautes École de Musique in Paris, where he attended masterclasses with renowned conductors such as Seiji Ozawa, Charles Dituva, Kurt Masur, Lorraine Mazel, Pierre Boulez, Myung-Hoon Chung and Valery Gergiev, and conducted the orchestra of the Paris Conservatoire in rehearsals during his studies.
Liu Chang, Principal Violin of Oriental Symphony Orchestra
Liu Chang is a famous violinist, a member of the Chinese Musicians Association and a national-level performer. He studied violin with his father since childhood, entered the Second Artillery Cultural and Technical Troupe in 1978 and the PLA Art Academy in 1991, became the principal violin of the Second Artillery Cultural and Technical Troupe in 1995, the principal violin of the Beijing New Philharmonic Orchestra in 2003, and the principal violin of the Oriental Symphony Orchestra in 2012. In his many years of practice, Liu Chang has developed a unique style of playing and is a rare violin performance artist who combines playing, teaching and recording.
