As an archive of Anna Sui’s work that spans the entirety of her career from 1981 to 2017, 'The World of Anna Sui' was originally exhibited at London's Fashion and Textile Museum, and it was the first retrospective exhibition of an American fashion designer in the United Kingdom.

After travelling over Tokyo and New York, 'The World of Anna Sui' is finally arriving at Anna Sui’s ancestral home - she is a Chinese American whose ancestor originated from Shanghai. Her experience of personal identity filters a constant feeling of the exotic 'other' into her style, perhaps reflecting her own experience of growing up in the only Chinese family in the neighbourhood, also runs through Sui’s work. What emerges in her design language is the sense of careful observation, of studying and then interpreting anything and everything that interests her.

Since the incoming June, 'The World of Anna Sui' will be housed at Modern Art Museum, Shanghai, as its first showing-up in China. There will be more than 100 pieces of wonderful design works of Anna Sui which presents the Pop-style fashion culture that she led since her young age, and bring the audience an amazing experience with this fantastic world of Anna Sui.
