March 16-18: Let’s go…trekking on Thousand Rock Mountain!!!
It’s time to head out of the city and into nature for a spring trek on Thousand Rock Mountain. Visit a local town, explore one of the biggest Buddhist monasteries in China, taste some local tea, and more!!

Dates: March 16-18 (Friday to Sunday)
Day 1 – Friday, March 16
19:00 – Meet at Hongkou Stadium (Metro Lines 8 and 3) Exit 3, outside - follow the music!
23:30 – Arrival and check in to our hotel
Day 2 – Saturday, March 17
08:00 – Simple Western breakfast
09:00 – Head over to our trekking start point
10:00 – Set out for an awesome trek through forests, rock formations, and ancient villages
12:00 – Picnic with your favorite food
13:00 – Continue trekking
16:00 – Return to our hotel
17:00 – Local specialty dinner
18:00 – Free time to explore the town
Day 3 – Sunday, March 18
08:00 – Simple Western breakfast
09:00 – Set off to a huge 1400 year old Buddhist monastery
09:30 – Reach the monastery and stroll through unrestored parts of the monastery, and if we are lucky, chat with the monks!
12:00 – Local specialty lunch
13:30 – Hop on the bus and chillax on our way back home
18:00 – Arrive in Shanghai

Included - 2 nights -Clean double occupancy rooms are included in the price. These will be booked on a first come first served basis. If you wish to room alone, the single occupancy fee is an extra 300 RMB per person total. Please note that availability may be limited. (We can help you find someone to share if needed. However, if there is an uneven number of travelers, the single occupancy may apply. Pairings in this case are distributed in order of request.)

Included - All meals as listed - Western breakfast (toast, jam, butter, peanut butter, eggs, coffee, tea), local specialty lunch and dinner - veggie friendly!
Not included - Picnic on day 2 - Bring your favorite meal for our outdoor picnic!

What you need to bring:
PASSPORT/ID card, camera/GoPro, small day pack, hiking shoes, walking sticks, flip flops, towel, toiletries and your favorite food for our picnic!

What is the minimum age to join in this trip?
Kids older than 9 years old can join, depending on the fitness level of the child.
How difficult is the hike?
Medium to high level, some points on the hike require climbing.
