Already been river trekking and looking for a new (secret) destination? We have one for you.

This weekend is all about taking fun in the water to the next level - hiking, swimming, and rappelling in awesome rivers, down ...and up… waterfalls and rocks, and exploring one of the coolest canyons this part of China has to offer.

 

What is extreme river hiking?

 

On this trip we are not just walking in a river.  We take it up a notch. Ultimate river hiking is when two instructors coordinate to set up equipment - ropes and other gear and use mountaineering technology (instruction provided during the trek) to help us move up the river. In total the challenge will take about 6 hours.

Dates: June 29 - July 1 (Friday to Sunday)

 

Day 1 - Friday, June 29

 

19:00 - Meet at Hongkou Stadium (Metro Lines 8 and 3) Exit 3, outside - follow the music!

23:00 -  Arrive at our hotel and check in

Day 2 - Saturday, June 30

 

08:00 -  Simple Western breakfast

08:30 -  Head out to begin our super river hike

09:10 -  Arrive at the starting point and warm up

09:30 -  Hike into the mountain over to the starting point

10:00 -  Change to submersible suit and begin our awesome river hiking and rappelling!!

12:00 -  Picnic by the creek

13:00 -  Continue our water challenge

16:00 -  Complete the river trek and hike to our final destination

16:30 -  Hop on the bus back to our hotel

17:10 -  Arrive at our hotel and relax before dinner

18:00 -  Local specialty dinner (seafood style)

Day 3 -  Sunday July 1

 

07:00 - Simple Western Breakfast

07:30 - Pack up and set off for some waterfall rappelling! (35m)

08:10 – Arrive and start our rappelling (1 rappel per person)

12:00 – Head to our restaurant in a nearby town

12:40 – Local specialty lunch

14:00 - Head back to Shanghai

18:00 - Arrive back in Shanghai
