With the release of “Vienna Is Calling You”, Platform K+K Vienna, Austria’s most diverse chamber ensemble, has erected a monument to its musical hometown of Vienna.

 

 

Kirill Kobantschenko, a first violinist in the Vienna Philharmonic, has assembled his friends and intermittent associates to produce a powerful album, a virtuosic combination of Viennese classicism and new sounds.

 

 

Ever since its foundation in 2009 and its first concert in Vienna’s Musikverein, Platform K+K Vienna has breathed new life into unknown or rarely heard pieces of music. The platform idea refers to the utmost artistic mobility and flexibility regarding instrumentation that the chamber music ensemble is trying to create and to preserve.
